Rodney T. Eggold

Rodney EggoldRodney Tyvaun was born on October 12, 2000 and was welcomed into the Eggold family on July 29, 2004 by his mom and dad, Susan and Greg, his sister Rachel, and his brother Jared.  Rodney’s adoption would become final on February 12, 2008; he was baptized March 2nd.   Rodney had an intense love for nature, especially birds.  Dogs also held a special place in his heart, most notably the family’s beagle Cocoa.   Rodney enjoyed being active in organized soccer, baseball, basketball and football and also enjoyed biking, swimming and anything else that provided him a sense of freedom such as doing flips and performing tricks on a trampoline.  Rodney was big in bravery, spirit, personal style, and in expressing appreciation for the people who loved him.  His life was a combination of joys and challenges, but on May 29, 2022 the challenges became too overwhelming, and he took his own life.  Rodney is now safely in the arms of Jesus.  He was laid to rest at a private Christian Service of Committal on June 11, 2022 at Arlington Park Cemetery in Greenfield, WI.  Rodney is dearly missed by his friends and family but will forever be in our hearts.

If you wish to honor Rodney with a memorial gift, he chose the Elmbrook Humane Society (ebhs.org) and Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) as the recipients of donated money given in his name when he was younger.   Journeys Lutheran School (journeyslutheran.org) provides educational opportunities for students with similar educational challenges as Rodney and is housed in the old Hales Corners Lutheran School, Greg’s alma mater.   Or feel free to make a donation to the church or charity of your choice.

Rodney got a great deal of joy out of spotting red-tailed hawks.  Should you see one, please pause and give thanks to God both for Rodney’s life and for the beauty God has left us in nature.
